If you love pasta and you love parmesan, then this is the recipe for you! It's a simple but delicious working-at-home meal that has featured regularly on my menu since returning to North America at the start of the pandemic. (Parmesan was somewhat more precious a commodity in East and Southeast Asia!) You can of course make this fancier - fry some minced garlic in butter, swap out the cheaper parmesan crumbles for freshly imported and/or grated, et cetera - but that versatility is what has made this a staple in my family. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Spaghetti with Parmesan
(2 servings)
Ingredients
1/2 of a box (190g) of spaghetti*
Black pepper (to taste)
Garlic powder (to taste)
Parsley (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
2 tablespoons of butter
2/3 cup of grated parmesan
*I prefer whole grain spaghetti, but to each their own!
Directions
1) Fill a medium-sized pot with water, add plenty of garlic powder, dried parsley, black pepper, and salt, bring everything to a boil, and cook the spaghetti to your preference.
2) Drain the spaghetti and stir in the butter and parmesan before the spaghetti has had a chance to cool too much.
3) Serve as is or with a garnish of fresh parsley, and enjoy!
