I will never not crave deviled eggs, but even I occasionally tire of the divine dill (gasp! I know!!!) deviled eggs I usually make. The other day I started pondering what a vaguely East Asian deviled egg would taste like...and then I did some googling and came across Eric Kim's awesome recipe and it just had to be! What follows is mostly his recipe, but with a couple of adaptations to make it better fit my family's tastes. If you love deviled eggs as much as I do definitely give this a try, I don't think you'll regret it!
Deviled Eggs with Soy Sauce 'n Sesame
Ingredients
6 hard-boiled eggs
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of light soy sauce
1 teaspoon of roasted sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon of furikake
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
Chopped green onion (to garnish)
Directions
1) Cut your hard-boiled eggs in half, sieve the yolks into a bowl, and set the halves aside.
2) Stir the mayo, soy sauce, sesame oil, furikake, and sugar into the sieved yolks until well combined and creamy.
3) Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the calderas of the egg halves, garnish with green onion (if desired), and enjoy!
